Claude Théberge, né le 4 septembre 1934 et mort le 15 mai 2008, est un peintre canadien. Il a été connu principalement pour sa peinture, mais a aussi réalisé des murales, des vitraux et des sculptures qui investissent de nombreux lieux publics. Claude Théberge est surtout connu pour ses « parapluies ».

Claude Théberge's career is a perfect example of how one day succeeds another to bring us to the often unpredictable aftermath ... This Canadian, a graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts in Quebec, was a Canada Council and Canada Council Fellow. Government of Quebec, and he attended the largest institutions in France dedicated to the fine arts and decorative arts.
He took the hands of 65,000 of his peers the first prize in a United Nations-sponsored competition.
He lived sometimes in Paris and sometimes in Montreal, exploring in turn abstraction and figuration.
He has created murals, stained glass and sculptures that invest in numerous public places and create paintings that are found in prestigious collections: Aérospatiale, France; L'Oreal / Lancôme; Museum of Contemporary Art of Montreal; Royal British Columbia Museum; Toronto World Trade Center; First Canadian Bank; Esso, Canada; Kennedy Collection, USA etc.
Over the years, he has participated in artistic events held in Paris, London, Copenhagen, Berlin, Madrid, Moscow, Tokyo, New York, Chicago and elsewhere.
Finally, the one who was once the protege of great masters exercised an impressive mentoring activity with emerging artists.
Claude Théberge died on Thursday, May 15, 2008 in Montreal.
