Born September 1 in Stolp, Pomerania, Germany.  Religion: Lutheran.  Father: Reinhold Hermann Franz Haase; Mother: Minna Albertine Emma, b. Retzke.  Four Sisters: Traute, Anna, Christel, Eleonore. 

1920's.

The artist was always proud of the fact that as a teen he had carried Max Pechstein's paint box.
